Since its foundation in 1930, LAMY has been consistently committed to Heidelberg as its only production site, thus guaranteeing consistently high quality "Made in Germany". The brand is now represented in more than 80 countries with over 15,600 sales outlets worldwide, including around 200 mono-brand stores.
The company continues to set trends, not just through its annual special editions and has inspired writing enthusiasts around the world with its innovative colours and surface finishes. Since February 2024, the Heidelberg-based company has been part of the Japanese stationery company Mitsubishi Pencil Company, which was founded in 1887 and is behind the internationally renowned uni brand.

The striking design, created by Gerd A. Müller, is characterised by its slim silhouette and the use of high-quality materials.
This fountain pen defined the design guidelines that are still valid today: reduced in form, but perfect in function. Ever since, all LAMY writing instruments have been based on this principle of functional design, be it a LAMY safari, a LAMY pico or a LAMY scala.
